Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa 5,895m above sea level. Its snow-capped summit is the silent witness of one of the highest maternal and baby death rate worldwide.
The Kilimanjaro Fetal Challenge 2019 is the world's single most significant fundraising event standing for unborn babies and their mothers.
An extreme sports activity fundraiser where participants climb Mount Kilimanjaro (5895 m) to raise funds with each meter climbed to support the Fetal Development Initiative 2019.
This ultimate trekking challenge is pushing the limits both physically and mentally to support emergency obstetrics in the Kilimanjaro area!

Every cent helps and we appreciate your financial or material support.
The high number of Maternal deaths is one of the most significant differences between high and low-income countries.
Tanzania continues to have one of the highest maternal and infant death rates in Africa, with national estimates of up to 1,5 : 1000 live births.
The program objective is to establish standardized health services and to reduce the number of deaths among mothers, and their newborns:
Promote efficiency, cost reduction, and sustainability
Obstetric ultrasound training to ensure fast, easy and cheap access to the baby
Introduce standardized protocols providing a quick and efficient early diagnosis
Establish cost-effective prenatal diagnosis, prenatal care and infection control
Beneficiary: Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center
This hospital is located in the immediate vicinity of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It opened in March 1971 and supplies more than 15 million people in northern Tanzania. It also participates in the education of about 1800 medical and nursing students.
